In April 2010, Spectrum purchased Australian Seismic Brokers Pty Limited “ASB” creating Spectrum ASB.
ASB was established in 1988 and is Australia’s leading supplier of Multi-Client 2D seismic surveys to the oil and gas industry. The company is based in Perth, Western Australia and has a library comprising over 150,000 km of 2D Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) reprocessed data from Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Following the acquisition, Spectrum ASB formed part of a global group of companies with a combined global 2D Multi-Client library comprising over 400,000 km of seismic data. Targeted reprocessing of the existing library both of Spectrum and the newly acquired data of ASB is a key element of Spectrum’s Multi-Client strategy and continues to enhance the value of this library. Spectrum ASB currently hold the largest privately owned seismic database in Australia with in excess of two million line kilometres of seismic data. Data packages cover all major hydrocarbon producing areas through Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Spectrum ASB also has an established seismic imaging centre in Jakarta, Indonesia.
